One officer was killed and four other soldiers were wounded today, April 7, at around 7.45 (Romania time) in Afghanistan.

Captain Vasile-Iuliu Unguras driving a patrol mission, consisting of four Humvee vehicles in the maneuver battalion 21 on the highway A1, Kandahar - Kabul.

20 km north-east of Qalat, one of the cars passed over an explosive mast. Following the explosion, and the officer lost his life, and four other soldiers were wounded.

 After the attack, the area was secured and the wounded soldiers were evacuated to military hospitals in Kandahar and Lagman.

Captain Vasile Unguras was 32 years, was married and had two children.
